The possibility of a fresh calendar is very exciting. Unfortunately this excitement can easily be short-lived with the overwhelming thought of the possibilities the new year brings with it.
We compiled a list of 4 easy to implement suggestions to help recovering resolutions addicts.
1. Declutter your living space.
Dedicate a Saturday morning to purging out your closet to clear out what has not been worn in a while and make room for the new. Once done with the clothes do the same with old magazines.
2. Start your day with a healthy morning routine.
Being able to start the day with a morning routine that consists of products that work together to bridge the nutritional gaps and provide key nutrients the body needs to look and feel better is the reason why we love the Vital5.
The Vital5 consists of:
- 4 x Forever Aloe Vera Gel
- 1 x Forever daily
- 1 x Forever Active probiotic
- 1 x Forever Arctic Sea
- 1 x ARGI+ Pouch
- 1 x Vital5 booklet
3. Intentional work/life balance.
Working from home can easily blur the lines between work time and down time especially when living alone.
Here are suggestions to make create a better work and life balance:
- Be more intentional in establishing boundaries around work. Keep some spaces around your home strictly for work purposes. Let the couch and bedroom be for rest and relaxation time.
- Hold yourself accountable to ending your work day at the same time it would’ve ended when working at the corporate office. You may not have control over a co-worker sending an email after hours but you can allow yourself to let it wait until the next business day.
- Close work related tabs at the end of the workday or open a new window for play like YouTube and Netflix before closing the laptop. Doing this helps create a small mental shift from work mode to unwind mode.
- Create an evening routine to help unwind before bedtime.
The year just started, there is still so much happening in the world. Remember not to be too hard on yourself, you are doing the best you can. Creating a vision board for the year can be daunting when the future is filled with so much uncertainty. To avoid overwhelming yourself with possibilities the future might bring in given the restricted control we have over our movement, rather opt to make a quarterly vision board and break it down to, monthly, weekly and daily goals. Once you’ve established that, focus on what you can do today (in the present) to move towards where you want to be tomorrow.
